That's an interesting account. I'd noticed that the PDF linking had changed from IA to Google and assumed it was some kind of accommodation to Google, but this was the first time I've heard it confirmed (immediately after Brewster says that Google had "no problem" with the botnet downloads). He also says that the libraries who owned the scanned volumes *did* have a problem with it.

Another thing I've noticed, which I suspect is also an accommodation to Google, is that their high quality OCR has been replaced with IA's ABBYY OCR.
